Ms. Chontell Lucas

Principal

 

Chontell C. Lucas is a graduate of Benedict College with a B.S. Degree in Child and Family Development, and an additional endorsement in Social Work. She has continued her Education in the MSW program at the University of South Carolina. Ms. Lucas has been involved with Christian Education in a variety of ways over the past 10 years, as Christian Academy Coordinator, Assistant Director, School Accountant, Committee Chairman, as well as serving on the Personnel, Admissions, and Event Planning Committees at the South Carolina Independent Accredited Bethel Christian Academy. Ms. Lucas began her teaching career as a 4-K Teacher and continued her professional life as a 2- 5th

 

Columbia, SC. Ms. Lucas has developed a passion for Christian education through the years. She considers it a great blessing to serve with a group of people who love the Lord, and the Truth of His Word. It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity on a daily basis to fuse faith with learning. 

 

Chontell C. Lucas’ Philosophy of Education:I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is her desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports Christian values, and invites a sharing of ideas. 

 

I avidly believe that teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them. I feel there is a need for compassionate, strong, and dedicated individuals who are excited about working with children. In our competitive society it is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. I am such a person and will always strive to be the best educator that I can be.
